Freezer Apple Pie Filling
Who doesn't love Homemade Apple Pie fresh from the oven
My mom dropped off a laundry basket of apples for me this week. I got busy peeling & coring them and decided to freeze them in bags ready for pie.
Each bag contains
6-7 cups of chopped up apples
2/3 cup of sugar
1 tsp of Epicure's Apple Pie Spice
Pour contents into a pie crust, dab with butter and bake.
You can also use these for an apple crisp.
If you don't have Epicure's Apple Pie Spice you can use a mixture of Cinnamon & Nutmeg.

Craft Table Cover ~ Old Crib Sheet
I felt like I had reinvented the wheel this week. I was staring at my 4 foot folding table wondering how I can keep that clean meanwhile allow 4 children (turned into 6 children) to paint and use glue on the table.
I have tried table cloths, newspaper, cardboard but nothing seemed to be that perfect fit. Things would shift, my table ends up paint/glue covered. The table cloths need to be wiped down or washed.
Then I saw it! A fitted crib sheet with a stain on it already. It was a perfect fit, it didn't come off the table, it would absorb a spill (which of course didn't happen even though every other time it does).
Today's Lesson ~ Hang on to a crib sheet :)

Slow Cooker Chicken
Slow Cooker Chicken
½ cup of white wine (red works too, or if you don’t
want to add wine you could use water)
1 can of Crushed Tomatoes (796ml)
1-2 bulbs of garlic (chopped)1 medium onion (chopped)
5-6 small potatoes (I cut mine in quarters)
4-5 boneless skinless chicken breasts (you can also use pieces of chicken, this is what I had on hand)
8oz package of mushrooms (chopped)
If you want to add some heat you can sprinkle in some chili peppers
I just put it all in the slow cooker together and serve with
crusty bread or rolls. If you are leaving it for the day I would cook it on low
or just the afternoon on high.
If you have picky eaters that don’t want to see an onion you
can either chop it in large pieces so they are easily picked out. The flavour
is still there. Also if I have cauliflower on hand I often grate it and mix
that in. I have added an entire head of cauliflower undetected if I serve it
with grated mozzarella on top.
Picture to follow, it is in my slow cooker now :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for stopping by! There is a lot going on here with many
renovations on the go, 3 children makes for a busy day in itself but toss in
cooking all our meals from scratch, living in renovations, a new baby, lots and
lots of laundry, eliminating screen time (when I know it would be so easy to
just turn on the television instead of looking up another craft on Pinterest),
jumping back into Extreme Couponing before I run low on laundry soap &
toilet paper, the list goes on and on. I am getting tired just thinking about
it. Who knows what makes me think there is time for a blog.
I wonder if I should
just nap during naptime? Not saying that some days I won't but I am going to try to post 4-5 times a week. Could be anything from recipes, crafts, coupons, contests, exhausted motherhood ramblings, money saving tips, who knows what the day will bring.
